Third International Congress on the History of the Order of Preachers in the Americas
Conference Overview
The III International Conference on the History of the Order of Preachers in the Americas brought together scholars from North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia to examine the historical, intellectual, religious, and cultural contributions of the Dominican Order throughout the Americas.
Presentations explored themes including evangelization, colonial encounters, missionary activity, education, political thought, material culture, archives and libraries, theology, and the continuing legacy of Dominican communities from the colonial era through the twentieth century.
