“We want to say to the world, with humility and joy: Look to Christ! Come closer to him! Welcome his word that enlightens and consoles! Listen to his offer of love and become his one family: in the one Christ, we are one.” – Pope Leo XIV

We are excited to offer our 2025 Lighthouse weekend with a new focus and opportunity for all sophomores, juniors, and seniors. It is no longer restricted to sophomores.

Lighthouse will take place Friday, November 7th – Sunday, November 9th, 2025 at the beautiful Retreat at Norwich Lake in Huntington, MA.

Lighthouse offers students the opportunity to learn more about being Catholic and to consider what that might mean for their lives.

The weekend features the following (and more):

  • Great food and overnight amenities on a lake during the last weeks of peak foliage season in New England
  • Talks by members of the student leadership team and Campus Ministry staff about the message of the Gospel
  • Casual games and activities to meet new friends and relax with old friends
  • Bonfires

Lighthouse features a lot of freedom and flexibility to enjoy the weekend as you wish. For example, you may attend a talk and then be given the option to join a small group to discuss the talk, have a one on one conversation with a student or staff leader, or sit by the lake or on the porch to think, read, pray, or journal.

This weekend is perfect for:

  • those who attend Sunday Mass and have questions about faith and its meaning in their lives
  • seekers considering questions about faith and aren’t sure what the Catholic Church has to offer
  • people looking to meet new friends and connect in a relaxing, low stress atmosphere

Frequently asked questions

What have students who previously attended Lighthouse said about the weekend?

“Lighthouse was an incredibly formative experience for me. Spending time with my classmates away from campus was the break I needed during a busy time of my college life. Leaving the retreat last year, I gained clarity and a newfound sense of the presence of God in my day-to-day life at PC through the sacraments and the conversations I had on Lighthouse. I would highly recommend this retreat to any college student looking for a renewing space away from campus to get to know themselves, their friends, and their faith!”

“As someone who had just entered the Catholic Church, Lighthouse opened my mind and heart even more to the faith. It felt like home being with people who are just like me, people who not only want to build a stronger relationship with Jesus but also help one another create this bond with Him”

“The Lighthouse Retreat is a great way to take a step back in the middle of the fall semester to contemplate the mission Christ has given you. This retreat rejuvenated my prayer life when I really needed it through the Mass and Adoration, and deepened my friendships with my peers. The timing of this retreat is perfect, as many people experience burnout by mid-November. I recommend Lighthouse to anyone who wants to grow in their love for God and their friends (which should be everybody!).

“The Lighthouse Retreat was a very inward-looking experience. Spiritually I was challenged to maintain a child-like dependency on Christ. Emotionally I learned my life runs on what my Father in Heaven has planned for me, so I will not let myself be a slave to the anxieties of worldly timelines. And physically, I learned I can lean on those I love when I feel my body and mind cannot go on.”

If I attended Lighthouse previously, can I attend again?

Yes! Lighthouse was previously offered only for sophomores and will feature a new focus and theme this year. This retreat is now open to all sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

I’m not sure what I believe and I haven’t been going to church. Is Lighthouse a good option for me?

Yes! This would be a great opportunity for you to consider your faith and purpose or to rekindle a life of faith.

Will this weekend sell out?

Yes – we have only 50 retreatants spots available and we expect the retreat to sell out quickly so be sure to register ASAP

When will I have time to do homework?

We will be home by 4:30pm on Sunday so that you may prepare for the week ahead. If absolutely necessary, you can do some academic work during free time and at night, but it will detract from your enjoyment of the weekend.

I usually attend Sunday Mass on campus. Will Sunday Mass be offered during the retreat?

We will have Sunday Mass together at Norwich Lake before returning to campus.
